Welfare and mutual support

Looking after the people who look after others.

Imams support their communities through births, marriages, illness, bereavement and crisis — often with little support themselves. The Guild is committed to imams' wellbeing.

Peer support

The Guild organises peer-support circles and informal gatherings where imams can share experiences in confidence. See events for upcoming sessions.

If you need help now

  • In an emergency, call 999.
  • Samaritans — call 116 123 (free, 24 hours) or email jo@samaritans.org.
  • NHS 111 — for urgent medical help that is not an emergency.
  • Muslim Community Helpline — confidential listening and emotional support from a Muslim perspective.
  • Your GP — for ongoing mental or physical health concerns.
  • Education Support and similar occupational helplines may help those who also work in teaching.

How the Guild can help

Members can contact the Guild in confidence. We can signpost you to appropriate services and, where your wellbeing is linked to your employment, help through our employment-support service.

The Guild does not provide counselling or medical services, and we will never ask you for health information that we do not need.
