Your data rights

How to access, correct or delete your personal information.

Last updated 13 October 2026

Draft for review. This policy is starter text supplied with the platform. The Guild's trustees or founding team must review it, and take professional advice where appropriate, before launch.

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your personal data (a subject access request);
  • correct inaccurate data (you can update most details yourself in your profile);
  • erase your data, where there is no overriding reason to keep it;
  • restrict or object to some processing;
  • transfer your data to you or another organisation.

How to make a request

Use the contact page and choose "Data protection", or write to us. We may need to confirm your identity. We will respond within one month, which can be extended by two months for complex requests. There is normally no fee.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
